They didn't know
when they went
off on the mail boat
across the Irish sea
that she sat in her
kitchen and cried
for them

Send all you can
were her parting words

Years went by
and one by one
they returned on the
mail boat to sit with their
mother in her kitchen
and she cried
for them again

When they took the mail boat
again across the Irish sea
